1. Getting started
CuratedLedger walks you through setting up your ledger the first time you open it.
- Add your money: enter your accounts and any debts, with their current balances.
- Add what comes in and goes out: recurring income and costs, irregular expenses, and dated one-off costs.
- Set aside what is not yours to spend: reserves for tax, upcoming commitments, and a safety buffer.
- Check in each week: update your balances and spending, so your estimates can be compared with what actually happened.
2. Importing statements
CuratedLedger imports CSV statements exported from your bank or card provider’s website or app. It recognises American Express and Santander formats, as well as general bank and card statements.
- Export a CSV statement from your provider and save it to Files.
- In CuratedLedger, choose to import a statement and pick the file.
- Review the transactions. Choose a category for each merchant, and mark lines as transfers, income or not counted where needed. CuratedLedger remembers your choices for the next import.
If a statement will not import: check that it is a CSV file, not a PDF, and that it has not been edited in a spreadsheet app. If it still fails, email us the provider’s name and the column headings, not the transactions.
Importing the same period again lets you replace the earlier import instead of counting it twice.
3. iCloud sync
CuratedLedger syncs automatically through your private iCloud database whenever your device is signed in to iCloud. Each device must be signed in to the same Apple Account.
If another device has not updated:
- Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account and that iCloud is turned on for CuratedLedger in your device’s iCloud settings.
- Check that both devices are online and that your iCloud storage is not full.
- Open CuratedLedger on both devices and give it a few minutes. Low Power Mode and Low Data Mode can delay syncing.
- Update CuratedLedger to the latest version on each device.
4. Check-in reminders
Reminders are optional and scheduled on your device. If they are not appearing, check that notifications are allowed for CuratedLedger in Settings, and that a Focus mode is not silencing them.
5. Exports
You can export a PDF report, a spreadsheet (CSV), or an “AI review” summary to use with an AI assistant of your choice. Exports open in the system share sheet, so you choose where they go. Exports contain your financial information, so take care with where you send them.
6. Reporting a problem
Email info@curateddesign.studio and include:
- Your device model, for example iPhone 16 or iPad Air.
- Your iOS or iPadOS version.
- The CuratedLedger app version.
- The steps that cause the problem, what you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
Please do not send balances, statements or other financial details unless they are needed to explain the problem. A description or a cropped screenshot is usually enough.
We aim to respond within a few days.
7. Privacy and your data
